Dumb idea: Lawmaker slams proposed ‘no vaccine, no work’ policy
By Billy Begas
Assistant
Majority Leader and ACT-CIS Rep. Niña Taduran said the purported plan of some
company to implement a ‘no vaccine, no work’ policy is a dumb idea.
“There
is no basis for the ‘no vaccine, no work’ policy. The President himself said
that nobody can be forced to be inoculated. Each person has the right to refuse
to be vaccinated,” said Taduran.
She
said that no one should be forced to get the vaccine in order to get work or
maintain his job.
“Although
I am encouraging everyone to erase the fear being attributed to the new
vaccine, I still believe that vaccination against Covid-19 should be voluntary.
Walang pilitan,” she added.
What
the companies should do, Taduran said, is to make sure that their employees are
strictly following the COVID-19 health protocols.
Taduran
also pointed out that it is impossible to force employees to get vaccinated
when there is no supply of vaccine in the country.
